Mobile Border Unit

Mobile Border Unit is a roaming, slightly absurd, playful installation that enacts a fully-functioning border control in unusual places. Asking questions about the arbitrariness of national and international borders, about the line between ‘here’ and ‘there’, it seeks to frame the border as a place where things happen, where two things meet, as something productive rather than reductive. The international border is reimagined as a place where something warm, or weird, or unexpected might happen

 

Mobile Border Unit was developed as part of Fortress Europe at Festival Belluard Bollwerk International, Fribourg, Switzerland 2015.
